Welcome to Flotas, where our story begins with a trio of visionaries – Sameh, Zidan, and Amr – bound by a shared love for exploration and a determination to overcome the challenges of cross-border shopping.
In the bustling streets of Egypt, where the fluctuating exchange rates have made acquiring international goods a luxury, we found ourselves seeking alternatives.
Inspired by our own experiences and the stories of fellow Egyptians navigating the same hurdles, the idea of Flotas was born. So, picture us in Egypt, where getting awesome stuff from abroad became a bit tricky because of money stuff. Sameh, Zidan, and Amr decided to do something about it. We started asking friends who were coming back from trips to bring us cool gadgets and snazzy sunglasses. That’s how the idea of Flotas began – a way for everyone to get the stuff they love from around the world.
But guess what? Our story doesn’t stop there. Amr saw a friend at the airport struggling with heavy bags and crazy fees. Being the superhero he is, Amr stepped in and shared his extra suitcase space. They became pals, and that got us thinking – what if there was an app where travelers with extra space could help others and get a high-five (and maybe a little reward) in return?
